Cat Sitting in the Bury area
Hello, I’m Vanessa, the proud owner and founder of Purr-fect. I’ve been cat sitting in the Bury area for over 10 years and simply adore my job.
Right from being very young, I was always passionate about working with animals. I’ve dedicated my life to their care and welfare and I hope that when you meet me, you can see my passion and dedication shine through.
Purr-fect has grown so much over the past ten years that now, especially in my busy season of March through to October, it is no longer possible to care for all of my customers’ cats by myself, while still offering the best care possible. For this reason, I now have a small and highly trusted team to help out from time to time.
My brilliant cat sitting team for Bury are:
My lovely mum, Sandra, who helps me occasionally when I need a little break. Joanne 0’Neil who helps cover the Prestwich areas and already has regular bookings. Helen Dunbar who helps me in the Bury area.
Together, we’re a dedicated team of cat loving specialists and you can be completely rest assured that your cats will be loved as if they were our own. We follow all your instructions and tailor make your cat visit plan so that your cats are as happy as they can be in your absence. We’ve cared for 1000s of beautiful cats and really have built up some amazing friendships with their pet parents over the years.
A little Purr-fect History
Back in 2005, before I set up Purr-fect, we had booked a long overdue holiday and put our cats into the cattery. We didn’t want to ask family and friends to visit every day as they all worked and had their own commitments.
Several days into our holiday, we received a message that our cats were a concern, constantly crying and disturbing the other cats in the cattery. Looking back, they must have thought that we had abandoned them (as they were originally rescue cats from Bleakholt). Being many miles away, it was a choice of either coming home or asking someone to take them back to our house, so they could be happy in their own home. Thankfully my mum offered, and cared for them until our return.
This sparked off my idea and realisation that cats just DO NOT LIKE change at all. No matter how luxurious the cattery, they just didn’t like being away from their home. The cattery did everything they could, but most cats are very territorial and really don’t like change. This got me thinking about how many other cat owners no longer took a holiday because they simply couldn’t leave their cats?
That was my light bulb moment and this is how I began my journey of setting up Purr-fect. My dream of working with pets had finally become a reality and in April 2007, Purr-fect was born!
